Trent Bridge is hosting a bank holiday double bill today, as league-leading The Blaze face Surrey in the Metro Bank One Day Cup, alongside the Notts Street Food Festival with 17 traders on site.

The weather is cool but dry to settle in for a 50-over game today. For those with limited cricket experience: an "over" is six balls bowled, which adds up to 600 balls over the day. This is traditionally a day for families and friends to gather and enjoy the day outside as the full match runs from 10:30am (start time) until late afternoon. The Cricket Ground says it's common during intervals for impromptu softball games to breakout.

The match is between The Blaze - a professional women's team representing the East Midlands with players from around Nottinghamshire and further afield - and Surrey. The Blaze currently sit at the top of the table for this tournament, with just one win ahead of today's opponent.

A large draw this bank holiday is going to be the food on offer. The Clubhouse is open as usual, serving hot and cold food and drinks, but the highlight is the Street Food Festival which is bringing 17 food stalls.

There is a large selection of Nottingham favourites, like Doughnotts and The Bagel Project. The Wandering Tea Room is on hand for an improvised afternoon tea. Indian food from Phata-Phat, Mexican inspired dishes from Pellizco, and pizza from Pizzamici are just a few. There's a variety of vegan food available. Falafel Baffle are one stall on hand for that, as well providing a gluten free option.

Entry into the food festival and cricket is ticketed: £6 per adult and £3 per child. Access to the street food is time-gated: one slot starts at midday and the other at 2:30pm. The food market is open until 7pm. Getting entry to the cricket is via the House Road Gate from 9:30am. Buy tickets online to be sure of availability. A ticket for the food festival also gives you access to the game.
