Beeston's Nottingham Hockey Centre are hoping to raise £100,000 to build a 400-seat stand on the east side of pitch 1, adding to the current 1,600 spectator capacity pitch.
Nottingham Panthers aren't the only premier hockey team in the city: Beeston Hockey Club also play in division one of their respective league too, only they swap the skates for trainers, and a puck for a small, hard ball. Opposite Lakeside Arts, you'll find the Nottingham Hockey Centre, which has six pitches with mixed surfaces, all designed for hockey but suitable for football, lacrosse, and rugby.
Pitch 1 is an AstroTurf pitch and is irrigated, allowing for a light film of water to cover the dense synthetic "grass". This helps the ball travel faster as it's skidding across the ground and also allows players to slide across the surface to make high-speed tackles or dives for the ball.
To fundraise, the Centre is giving the opportunity for fans to be a part of hockey history for years to come by sponsoring a chair. For £150 a plaque will be added to the chair with their name etched on it. A permanent plaque will also list every seat-sponsor at the entrance to the pitch.
There are higher impact opportunities too, including pitch-side advertising for £1,000 for the year.
The name of the new stand is also up for grabs for one very generous sponsor: a sponsorship of £10,000 will secure the name of the stand for five years.
