The launch event for the 2026 Altered Images Photography Exhibition is this evening, beginning a run which lasts until 24th July.

The Nottingham Creative Photography Group is based at Central Library and focuses on taking imaginative photos, which often have effects added to them to further enhance the artist's vision. This exhibition is the annual showcase of their work.

It also arrives as Central Library is hosting another photography exhibition, Woodland Atmospheres, by Paul Binnion, in the Huddle Space until 1st June. His work uses techniques including multiple exposures, colour manipulation and intentional camera movement, making it a useful companion piece to Altered Images and another sign of the library being used as more than a place for books.

Altered Images presents pieces from fifteen members of the group in the main atrium of Central Library. A large monitor shows a further 150 pieces.

The launch event starts tonight at 6:30pm, with many of the photographers present. There is an Eventbrite page to sign up. The works will be on display during library opening hours until 24th July.

Sixteen collaborative pieces combining writing and photography have gone on display at Nottingham Central Library, with contributors meeting visitors at tonight’s free launch event.
