Likely icy roads this morning; Canalhouse hosts cutting edge comedy for £2; Revolution Bar to immediately close.

Second tenant leaves Cornerhouse this month

The gritters were out last night as road temperatures dropped below freezing - expect icy patches, if not snow, whilst out today. It will reach 7 degrees by lunch time, but hang around 2 degrees both in the morning and afternoon. There's no rain and no wind though, which is nice. Just the ice to be concerned about on the road.

If you're at a loss for something to do, you can often turn to a Castle Rock pub. Tonight the Canalhouse has a comedy night specifically for acts to practice new material. The line up isn't released until much closer to the event so you could be about to see a brand new act or a TV personality you've seen hundreds of times in your living room. You'll have to pop along to find out. Tickets are just £2 so you can't go wrong. The show starts at 7:30. Food is served until 8pm.

In high street news, The Revel Collective which owns Revolution Bar in Cornerhouse and Revolucion de Cuba on Market Street has gone into bankruptcy proceedings and appointed administrators yesterday. The Cornerhouse bar will close immediately and no plans are announced for the Market Street branch yet. This the second large tenant to leave the Cornerhouse this month, which still has vacant units.
