Caution advised with cycling; Beeston Tales tells the story of The Stealing of the Sun and Moon; City is pleased with its progress out of debt.
Right now, the temperature is around 5 degrees and will climb to 9 degrees, sitting there throughout the night. There will be rain most of the day, and winds reaching 20mph. Gusts at 35 mph. Personally, I'll be risking cycling, but I am breaking my own 30 mph gust limit.
Beeston Tales is keeping the ancient tradition of storytelling alive, and you can go along and enjoy the ride too. They begin their program at 19:30. It's available online, but I highly recommend you attend in person and buy a ticket on the door at the Church of Assumption in Beeston. They serve cakes and tea - enjoy!
In City council news, Councillor Ethan Radford said debt levels have dropped from 2020's £827 million, and are now at £292 million, and declared that the City is "financially stable". This bodes well for the Council which is still under intervention protocols from the government, restricting what services it can offer tax payers. The appointed commissioners seem pleased with the progress and are sticking to their plan of leaving the process in February, ahead of the City's March budget. At that point, the council has said it intends to budget more towards "street cleaning, safety, and pot holes".
