Warm and waterproof clothing recommended today; Royal Thai tries again with new management; "hope box" is unveiled in Hockley.
Peaking at 9 degrees tomorrow, but hanging around 7 degrees. No rain during the day, but some expected in the evening, right as you start your commute home. Winds will be okay, but after lunch there are gusts touching 30 mph throughout the rest of the day. Cycling recommendation: wear something warm and waterproof.
If you're castle-side of Nottingham and you're after Thai food, then you'll probably stop at Zapp. If you're closer to town though, it might be worth the trip up Mansfield Road to Royal Thai. It's a far more traditional, sit-down restaurant, and is run by new owners who want to revitalise the restaurant that has been there for 40 years. There's a good chance I'll be getting lunch there tomorrow.
In community support news, an abandoned phone box has been given a new lease on life in Hockley. The traditional red box has become an art project aiming to give hope and advice to those sleeping rough in Nottingham. The artwork was created by people who managed to make their way off the streets, with help from Framework. It also gives directions to services vital for those in need, including where to find street kitchens and medical aid.
