Tim Doherty to host diabetes community event after Fife game
Nottingham Panthers to take on Fife Flyers and Tim Doherty welcomes diabetes community to the Bolero Suite afterwards.
The wind from yesterday continues today, making it pretty cold. Around 3 degrees. There will likely be some residual rain this morning too, so largely quite miserable. It won't really improve until around 7pm, when the rain and wind die down.
Tonight at the Motorpoint Arena the Nottingham Panthers play the Fife Flyers, which is down to the final few tickets. Whilst it's never good to tempt fate, this should be an easy two-points for the Panthers, after having beaten the Flyers in all five of the games we've faced-off from them. The match starts at 7pm, but you'll want to get there for 6pm to see the warm up and grab some food. Remaining tickets range from £24 to £30.
There are only 9 games left for the Panthers in this Elite League season, it's certainly all to play for with plenty of time to drop down the league tables. Things are looking good though: we have a crucial game against the Devils coming up which the Panthers have better odds of winning, but they're still a very good opponent to be playing against.
League rivals, Sheffield Steelers, have the same number of points as the Panthers, with one extra win that gives them the edge. There are still two games to play against them though, with one being a sold out home match this month.
After the match tonight is a more exclusive event hosted by Panthers' own Tim Doherty. This is a free event for anyone who has been diagnosed with diabetes or has been affected by the disease. Doherty, our number 17, said, "I was able to meet a pro hockey player when I was first diagnosed and it inspired me that diabetes can't hold me back." The event will be in the Bolero Suite after the game. You need a game ticket and to register on the Panthers website.
