Weather you shouldn't sniff at (but still wrap up); two events for all ages at the Sherwood Observatory.
If you found cycling in yesterday's weather pleasent enough, then you'll be happy about today as it's largely the same. Slightly cooler at 7 degrees. Rain continues, but less of it today. Gusts are 25 mph.
Sherwood Observatory is a bit out of the way, but they're a smart choice to keep on your list of something to do - especially if you decide to make a day of it. Their Big Astronomy Show is at 3pm and then later is The Universe Through All The Senses show at 6pm.
The observatory-planetarium only opened at the end of the 2024 and has gone from strength to strength. The two shows on today are both new for this year after the success of 2025. If you're after access to their telescopes, you may be a bit out of luck until next winter as the nights start to get later into the day. Keep an eye out on their socials where they announce these dates on relatively short notice - usually at the beginning of the month.
