The evening session for this evening has very few bookings at the moment.

The temperatures only dropped to 9 degrees during the night, and it’ll climb to 12 degrees by lunch time, and then mostly hang around there all day. My forecast says a bit of rain at 1pm, but only 1mm so not too noticeable. The noticeable thing will be the wind though: 31 mph at its worst but not much lower at best.

Over on the ice arena today the T&D rink is dominated by a full day of synchro skating for the BIS Synchronized Skating National Cup 2026. It's been difficult to confirm if its open to the public, but you can certainly watch from the mezzanine level or from the warmth of the T&D bar. The late running of the competition is pushing the public skating session back half an hour to 7.30pm (the website is currently incorrect) and the session finishes at 9pm. So a late night skate! The National Ice Centre are also eager to remind you that families of three, four, or five can on the ice at a reduced price, and kids under five skate free.

In theatatrical news, Nottingham Playhouse are looking to put together their 2026 cohort for their Homegrown Performers program. The course is for "pre-professional" actors who have already been bitten by the bug and want to take it more seriously. It consists of weekly rehearsals which culminate in a theatre performance in July. The course cost is £225, but if you complete the course, you'll have your very first theatre credit at the end.
