Tending towards -2 degrees but quite still, something about sex magick at the Contemporary, and the LHC is going quiet for a while.
If you're lucky this morning, you'll only have to venture outside during the 2 degree weather, but most likely you'll be out there when it's much closer to -2 degrees which will dominate much of today. This is sounding a bit like a broke record at this point, but once again there's not much wind to speak of. There are gusts all day around 25 mph though, so do be careful out there on your bike.
If you're after something to do today, you could do worse than hanging around the Nottingham Contemporary. At 12:30 there's a talk entitled "On art and sex magick, with reference to the work of Murni" by Simon Withers. And then in the evening you can stay around for a live tribute to Queen by candlelight at 20:30.
In science news, the Large Hadron Collider is to be turned off, if only for improvements. Although those repairs and tweaks will take almost five years, researchers won't be spending the time twiddling their thumbs. Apparently, the Big Bang aftermath simulator has churned out more than enough data points already to keep them busy for some time. After the device comes back online, it'll have a tenfold increase in output - according to an article from the Guardian.
