A lovely winter's day; Burton Joyce Community Market; Ubuntu is trialing an ARM Steam release.
Today should be a rather nice winter's day. It'll be hanging around 2 degrees, and dropping to -2 degrees, throughout the day, but there will be no rain and no wind to speak of. Head out and enjoy it.
If you're willing to wrap up warmly and head out on an adventure, Burton Joyce Community Market is on tomorrow, as it is every 2nd Saturday of the month. It'll be in the Village Hall. I've spoken to an organiser who says the market is going ahead, but with slightly fewer stalls than normal. None the less, you can still grab some lunch and maybe a trinket or two.
In tech news, Ubuntu is releasing their own Snap for Steam on ARM64 machines. Steam doesn't official support it yet, but Ubuntu are quite confident in their translation layer. I've been playing games entirely on Bazzite for a few months now, flawlessly. The Proton layer that Steam has developed is remarkable, and if it's working on ARM chips now, there's really no reason to be hanging onto that old Windows machine.
