Plans to extend tram to Colwick revived
Wet okay but okay weather; Storytellers of Nottingham are at the Malt Cross; Colwich tram extension possible, but not soon.
A relatively warm day today, with a peak of 10 degrees, but usually around 7 degrees, with light rain much of the day. No wind worth worrying about though.
Tonight you can revel in the age old tradition of storytelling - at least the listening part of it. The Storytellers of Nottingham will be regaling their audience at the Malt Cross from 7:30 tonight. The theme - as we're approaching Valentines Day, I guess - is Love. Head downstairs, otherwise you'll be at the Singles Social.
In transport news, plans to extend the tramline up to Colwick and Gamston that were put on hold during the pandemic are being looked at again. The East Midlands Combined Authority is spending £300,000 to double check the feasibility of those plans. Mayor Clare Ward, now in charge of transport across Notts and Derby, is highly unlikely to see the fruits of this endeavour during her term time, according to Tim Hesketh, CEO of Tramlink. He believes that millions will need to be spent on planning along, before any tracks are even purchased. The Nottingham Post has more on this story.
