Nottingham Trent University are in the midst of their Graduate Festival 2026 where many sections of their creative schools are opening to the public to showcase, exhibit, and run industry events.
The festival is designed for this year's batch of graduates to display their final projects to the public but also to industry insiders who are looking for new talent to join the workforce.
There are events running throughout the week.
Today there is a showcase from Music & Events students studying Sound Engineering & Audio Production, Event Production, and Music Performance amongst others. Along with the exhibition, there are bands starting from 6:30pm at Metronome.
The Esports Production graduates are showing their portfolio. This in particular is a networking event starting at 6pm in Confetti X. Confetti X is a esports tournament venue on Marco Island, with enormous, high resolution displays and a 100-seat auditorium. The esports production course was a new addition in 2020.
One hope for keeping the networking events in Nottingham is to keep hold of talent in the city. As a student city, it's common for those early in their career to get qualified here, but then move away to larger creative cities like London or Manchester. With increased infrastructure - like high tech facilities - and social networking between students and local industry it's hoped that creative professionals will put down roots here - increasing economic activity as they do.
Exhibitions from graduates of fine art, costume design, photography, and illustration are also available today. Check the full listings on the NTU website for more.
