Murder mystery troupe returns to Nottingham
Colder than normal, but nothing to stress about; getting away for a good old fashion murder weekend.
Back to proper cold weather today with temperatures around 2 to 4 degrees. No ice though, and no rain either. There will be very low winds in the morning, but it will start picking up again after 8pm. Nothing too much to worry about though.
Mondays are always fairly quite around town, so instead of something to do today, how about something to look forward too. Joy Swift is the inventor of the murder mystery weekend, and they are returning once again to the Belfry hotel.
Throughout your weekend stay, you can slip away from the real world for a while (which regulars call "the golden bubble") and enter the over dramatic world of murder, accompanied by quite a lot of food, the camaraderie of puzzle solving in your group or with the wider attendees, all the services the hotel has to offer including a swimming pool and gym, and - the best bit! - an Incident Room full of evidence for you to mull over all weekend.
The cast are in role all weekend and expect to be plied with questions. The weekends are tricky to get the solution for but are always great fun regardless. When you get it, it feel very rewarding. A good bit of advice is to run your wackiest theories by the police detectives and they'll guide you in the right direction.
I've had the pleasure of attending these events for many years now, and hope to keep going to them for more to come.
