Monday, 12th January
A warmer day but the wind might put you off cycling; a night out in Hockley; a successful night on the hockey.
Unusually warm today, with temperatures hanging around 7 and 10 degrees. No rain either and fickle winds around 15 mph. Gusts will be pushing 33mph and not dipping much lower.
If you're after a nice evening after a grumpy Monday return to work, let me suggest treating yourself to a nice meal at Kayal on Broad Street. They've just won their second Good Food Award - last time I ate there there was a magician going from table to table though who knows how often that happens. Then just around the corner at 7pm, Rough Trade are hosting a performance and signing from Jenny on Holiday.
In hockey news, Panthers had a decisive win against Fife achieving a lopsided 7:3 score. A fan close the Morning Briefing right said that only two of those goals felt intentional. We were still without Fossier, and Noel was benched, but Harris made a strong return. Ex-Panther Neilson picked a fight he distinctly lost and raged at Captain Matt Alfaro. Like many bits of hockey drama, I suppose we'll never know what kicked it off. You can read more about it on the full EIHL write-up.
