The 2026 Ice Hockey World Championship continues in Switzerland today with a very shaky start for Great Britain. Tonight, the team play the host, Switzerland, who are keenly making use of the home advantage so far, winning all of their games by large margins.
Peter Russell's GB team are oh-for-three games so far, with just three goals scored but 15 conceded. Our shots on goal numbers place us well in the bottom half of that ranking. So far, GB has 66 shots on goal and Sweden, who are just above us in this regard, have 88. More bad news: our goal conversion is 4.55%. Sweden is at 14.81%.
Panthers grown Tetlow (defence) and Betteridge (forward) aren't amongst the scorers so far.

Switzerland on the other hand are surprising fans with their success.
The game tonight is at 7:20PM. It's available to watch on a live stream from IIHF.tv website for €7 (£6~) for one match or €30 (£26~) for the entire competition's top division. It seems that, once again, pubs in Nottingham are not showing the event.
