Coat and hoody cycling day; Weezer tributes at The Old Cold Store; huge development of greenbelt land proposed in Broxtowe.
Between 5 and 7 degrees today, but without any rain. The roads will stay warm enough to fend off any frost too. The wind is fairly chill today, but will pick up to 29 mph gusts, so stay wary.
Tonight we are travelling back to the carefree days of jamming out to Weezer and only worrying about PE the next day - head down to The Old Cold Store for their Weezer tribute night; Say It Ain't So. Still plenty of tickets available with doors opening at 7pm. The Vat and Fiddle are serving tradition pub food until 8pm, so grab a bite there before you head next door to the concert.
In local-ish planning permission news, you may know the Giltbrook Shopping Park for the IKEA there but it also edges close to a greenbelt area which developers are asking special permission to transform into a business and logistics parks. The loss of the greenbelt seems too much of a cost for local campaigners against the change who are eager to defend the natural grasslands and historic aqueduct in the area, but Broxtowe Council seems more excited by the £2.5 million in business rates it could bring in each year. Over the four years of constructing the new premises, £184 million of economic activity is promised by the consultants, which is quite tempting for everyone - but is it worth it? The Nottingham Post has more.
