Deserted Debenhams leads to decline in Square safety

Weirdly warm, sometimes wet; a whole day of food sorted; Norfolk Place to be closed for safety reasons.

Deserted Debenhams leads to decline in Square safety
The old department store is visibly declining over time and has seen multiple trespassers this year.

An unusual high of 9 degrees at lunch today, but most of the time you'll find the temperature around 4-6 degrees. Some rain is expected but not until around 5pm. Gusts touching 26 mph, but we can live with that. I'm very eager for a full day cycling around town.

If you're also after a full day in the city, maybe my planned menu can inspire you do something a bit different from normal. My first stop for food will be at 11am in The Forager at Sneinton Market to get a seitan butty. Lunch I'm very excited for: Cheese and Pasta Co have an £8 lunch day, just off of Market Square. I may end up topping my evening off with gyoza at Bustler Food Hall, back in Sneinton. Then, going home very full.

In Market Square news, the council are proposing restricting access to Norfolk Place, an alleyway that runs alongside the old Debenhams. Whilst the department store was active, the access way wa smore used, but now is only useful for anti-social behaviour, at least according to Council concerns. To close the public right of way the council are required to get feedback from the public first. You can make your thoughts known on the PSPO part of their website.

Follow up to food plans: Forager does not open until 11am, so it’s a must to stop in at Yolk for a coffee and pastry.
