Bennerley Viaduct adds new ramp; improved cycle route
Possible snow; Valentines Makers Market and pizza; Viaduct access improved with new ramp.
It was freezing over night but there shouldn't be any ice today - at least according to council gritters' reports. There will be snowfall today as we go from -1 degrees nowish, to 5 degrees later on. It will be too wet for any of it to stick though. There's no wind to speak of. Wrap up warm, and you might get to snow through a few snowflakes - check hourly reports for more details on snow.
Today over at the Liquid Light lot is a Makers Market. It's billed as a Valentine's market, but you'll find all manner of gifts and trinkets for yourself or a loved one. A confirmed stall will be Disco Jellyfish, who make laser cut jewellery inspired by nature and space, using bold colours to make statement earrings and point pieces. The market starts at 2pm and finishes 6.30pm. Da Vinci's Dough will also be there, serving sourdough pizza until late into the evening.
In cycling news, Bennerley Viaduct is now accessible from both sides with the completed construction of a new ramp. Walker and cyclists can now cross the Victorian, wrought iron crossing rather than using the smaller timber bridge. The visitor centre is still delayed, but the cycling route is now a much more impressive one.
